Each race has a number of customisation options, but they don't feel varied enough. This might allow you to customise a bunch of stuff later on, but I predict that it will create a big clash of style vs function, and unless you're in the habit of looking up guides, planning an outfit/concept/whatever in any detail won't work. I want to give it more of a chance but I burned all my time in the 'new character' screen, and I just can't rationalise spending £20 on this. You can also pick from a few different noses, jaws, eyes, ears and hairstyles, but a good number of them are so similar that you wouldn't really be able to tell them apart at a glance. You typically get four different heights to pick from, and three different levels of muscle(width) but they're static values, no fine-tuning. I've played (almost) two hours, and almost all of that was in creating and re-creating my first character, just trying to decide what I want to go with. The big draw for me was the custom character thing. I was never majorly into the series, but I thought it had some cool ideas/characters/etc.
Let me first say that I'm not so much a dragonball fan as I am an 'appreciator'. I've always been very huge into games that feature a good amount of customization for things I just put in for a refund due to this.
